Input channels—
RMS and peak are browser-delivered digital levels. dBFS is not dB SPL. Near-full-scale samples and brief silence may have software, environmental or intentional causes.
Local recording
Reduce your volume, especially when using headphones.
Low digital gain does not guarantee safe acoustic volume. Stop if uncomfortable; do not raise volume to hear inaudible tones.
Background noise
Stay silent for 5 seconds, then speak normally for 3 seconds. Relative SNR compares these two windows; AGC, suppression, room noise and changed distance affect it.
Relative noise floor—
Noise variation—
Approximate relative SNR—
Possible 50 Hz hum—
Possible 60 Hz hum—
Low-frequency rumble—
Hum and rumble are spectral candidates, not diagnoses. Hum needs bin spacing at most 3 Hz; FFT windowing, leakage and browser processing limit interpretation.

Dominant frequency—
FFT bin spacing—
Browser processing—
The FFT shows the captured signal, not microphone frequency response. Peak hold is per bin since reset; 50/60 Hz lines are reference markers. No acoustic calibration.
RMS and peak are relative digital levels, not calibrated sound pressure in dB SPL. The meter is visually amplified.

Core tests are processed locally in your browser. Camera and microphone streams are not intentionally uploaded by Testvexa.
FAQ
Does this test upload my input?
Core interaction is processed in your browser. Testvexa does not intentionally upload camera or microphone streams.
Can browser limitations affect the result?
Yes. Browsers expose different hardware APIs, so unsupported access is not the same as faulty hardware.
